The World Needs You
BIBLE READING: Romans 10:14-17 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “LORD, who has beloved our message?”
So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
We live in a world that needs Jesus so badly. The god of this world has people blinded. He attacks their identity, their mind, their marriage, their children, their health, and their prosperity. It all began with the fall in the Garden of Eden…. but it continues. Yet, as Christians we have been given authority over the god of this world.
We have an obligation to tell others and show others the love of Jesus. We are not just in this world to exist, but we are here to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I once heard someone say that God does not need us and I have to kindly disagree. He needs us and he wants us. His spirit is present here on earth in the lives of HIS CHILDREN, but we are here in bodily form and we are to be about the work of Jesus. Now, if we refuse to do what he asks us, he will certainly move on and find a willing vessel.
Just as the Isrealites did not all listen in the above scripture - neither will all those that we share Jesus with. Sometimes that is discouraging - but we must PRESS ON - there are so many that need Jesus and you just don’t know the seeds are you planting with your words and your kind deeds.
Let’s make sure we are loving (even the unlovable), befriending (even the unfriendly), and being the hands and feet of Jesus. Ask yourself that old saying WWJD? (what would Jesus do) - and DO IT TODAY!! The world is waiting on you….
