Approaching The Throne Of God

BIBLE READING:  Hebrews 4:14-16 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

How many of us have lived a perfect life?   Not one!  The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God".  I know that I have fallen short - very short in fact - on many occasions.  When we mess up - satan LOVES to throw it in our face.  In fact, he likes to do this so much that he will do it for years and years and years.    It's like an old film that he will replay in our memory over and over and over.   There is a reason that he likes to do this.    He does this so that we see ourselves as c-o-n-d-e-m-n-e-d.   Feeling condemned by past sin is like walking around handcuffed - we can't be free to be who Christ wants us to be - which is a POWERHOUSE for Him, and this makes satan happy.    This is his main goal. Even when you are already saved and a part of God’s family - satan wants to keep you from fullfilling the purpose that you were put here for.

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:12”

I want to remind you that when you accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life - God looks at you in a whole different light.   He no longer sees the sins that you committed - they are gone as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).   God now sees you through the blood of his precious son, Jesus.   Jesus paid the debt for all sin of all time!

Satan no longer has the right to throw your past sins in your face.   Stand your ground against him and tell him that your sins are covered by the blood of Jesus.    Then you will be able to confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace.

Dear God, Thank you for forgiving me of my sin. Thank you that you have have erased my past from your recollection, but please erase the memory from mine.  I want to be a powerhouse for you - serving you all the days of my life - totally devoted mind, soul, and body to your work.   In Jesus Name, Amen.
