Come Talk To Me
Read: Psalm 27:7-8
Hear me as I pray, O Lord. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me." And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming."
Have you ever felt alone? Abandoned? Maybe you've felt like no one really cares or even understands you. Sometimes we even face times where people let us down .... and it hurts, it really hurts!
I personally have had times where I think that no one could possibly understand what I was going through. It was a lonely, and dark time. But even in those darkest times - I knew that my Savior loved me, understood me like no one else, and that he even wanted to communicate with me.
We see in Genesis chapter 3, verse 8 that the Lord walked and talked with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Verse 8 takes place right after they ate of the tree of good and evil and they were afraid because they heard the "sound of the Lord", then we proceed to read of a conversation that took place between them and God.
It is true that Jesus wants to talk to us. Yes, he knows everything about us but He desires that conversation. We might know a lot about our best friend or spouse - - but what kind of relationship would it be if we didn't verbally talk to them? Not a real good one! Not a close one!
King David was a man who understood what it was like to talk to God. He exclaims in Psalm 18:3, "I CALL TO THE LORD, WHO IS WORTHY OF PRAISE, AND I AM SAVED FROM MY ENEMIES".
Today, with whatever you are going through - know that your Father wants to HEAR from you. Right now he is saying,
"Come and talk with me, dear child. I want to hear what is on your mind and in your heart. I want to be the one who brings you peace and answers. I love you more than you know"......
Prayer: Thank you Jesus for caring so much about me that even when I feel abandoned, alone, or hopeless - YOU ARE HERE. Thank you for actually wanting to have a conversation with me and for wanting to be my best friend ..... (right now spend time alone and talk to Him.... he's patiently waiting)
